I'm going from memory, but I seem to recall that according to the book "The Israel lobby and US foreign policy", Irsael was initially lobbying against US invading Iraq because Israel wanted the US to invade Iran and thought Iraq was a distraction. Accepting "collateral damage" and using automated systems that are known to identify bogus targets is guaranteed to kill civilians. The fact that the killing is random and the ostensible objective is legitimate does not change the outcome. If the actual goal were to kill civilians, that could be accomplished with deliberately sloppy airstrikes on deliberately uncertain targets, with negligence serving as a smokescreen. You could assuredly carry out a campaign of genocide or terror using overly aggressive airstrikes on uncertain targets.
The actual outcomes of these airstrikes align with our president's stated goals. I don't necessarily believe this is coincidence.
